Meeting techniques

"It is better to debate a question without settling it,
than to settle a question without debating it." (Jeseph Joubert)

Meetings often have a bad reputation. They are boring, pointless, too unproductive and too long. All in all, meetings are a waste of time. Which, unfortunately, is all too often true. Many costly man-hours are wasted because of the chairman's lack of structure and decisiveness.

A good chairman should ensure that a meeting proceeds quickly and effectively even when complex issues have to be resolved and, at the same time, should make the participants feel involved and responsible for the decisions made.

During the Meeting Techniques training course, participants learn to preside over a meeting in a systematic and effective manner and to make a professional contribution to the meeting when not acting as chairman. We analyse the techniques required to structure a meeting and avoid wasting time while still giving everybody an opportunity to participate in the meeting.
